REF: APPRECIATION FOR THE SUPPORT TOWARDS MY EDUCATION
I hereby send my sincere appreciation for the support you have rendered to me in my studies while pursuing a diploma in Nursing.
I completed my state final exams that marked the end of my 3year course and am now awaiting my results.
Your help made it possible for me to achieve this and am so grateful
I know that the knowledge and skills I have acquired will be very helpful both to me but also to many especially the sick.
I intend to upgrade later to a bachelors either in Nursing or in Medicine when I have started working and have saved some money.
May the good Lord richly bless all of you
Yours Faithfully,
Sylvia N.

Today ASSET joins the rest of the world to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child. Women in the developing world have much lower college attendance rates and fewer economic opportunities than men. One way we can help change that is through education. ASSET has put great emphasis on encouraging and supporting female applicants. Join us in our bid to educate more girls. Donate $25 today.

Hello! My name is Pascale Stiles; I’m a senior here at UW-Madison, majoring in biology with a certificate in global health and I intend to pursue a Master’s degree in public health after I graduate. I love traveling and discovering everything the world has to offer. Of special interest to me is the reduction and/or elimination of global disparities, so I’m very excited to be involved in ASSET and all its wonderful work empowering young people in Uganda. Special thanks to Heather and Chris for allowing me to be part of the team!

Laura Gregor

Hi! My name is Laura Gregor and I am a senior at UW-Madison majoring in biology with certificates in global health and gender & women’s studies. After graduation I plan to pursue a master’s in public health in Global Health and possibly a master’s in non-profit management. I found out about ASSET after attending a bead party at Heather and Chris’s house. I love the education mission of the program and that it also benefits the Ugandan women that make the beautiful paper jewelery!

Through hard work and commitment; Morris has completed his degree in micro-finance from Kyambogo University. We would like to thank the partners and sponsors of ASSET who have dipped into their limited resources to donate towards this undertaking. We, just like Morris, are incredibly grateful for you support. Morris can now begin the next chapter of his life as he undertakes the challenge of finding a job. May 6, 2012

This week the lovely people at Playful Kids Learning Center in Madison, WI (also known as PKLC) have generously agreed to partner with ASSET to raise awareness about it’s scholarship fund.

One of the ways that ASSET encourages donations is through it’s jewelry, hand-made from recycled paper beads, which makes a great gift for any occasion. The parents and staff get to look great while also helping a worthy cause. Thank you PKLC!!

February 9, 2012

For a long time, we’ve been wanting to upgrade to a new website for ASSET, and it is finally happening! We are working behind-the-scenes to put together a brand-new website for www.assetuganda.org.  We hope that it will help you learn more about what we do and what we stand for. We hope it will continue to help us communicate about our mission, targets, and goals while sharing some of our favorite pictures from Uganda. We hope to even feature some of our beautiful Bead2Read beads on the website! Stay posted for the release.
